I'm hoping some of you people out there might have some advice.

My Dad is in the hospital because he has been having these unstoppable nose bleeds. He's been having this happen off and on for a couple of years now. Usually, he just goes to the ER and they get it stopped and everything's fine. This time they got it stopped, but on the way home it started again. This went on for two days, then finally they admitted him to the hospital. He's been there two nights, and they're keeping him again tonight just to make sure he doesn't start to bleed again.

Oddly, nobody is quite sure what is causing this. He's seen a variety of doctors and some say it's one thing, other's say something else. Nobody seems to agree or have a concrete diagnosis.

Do any of you people have any experience with something like this?

Here's a little of his background. He's 69. He had a heart attack a few years ago, but has since tried to get himself in shape, and has done really well. He had been taking a lot of anti-inflammatories until this last year when he had a hip replacement. But he still takes a lot of medications for his heart and some other conditions. I don't know what all he takes, but I know he takes a variety of meds, mainly for his heart. He has been anemic in the past, but takes medication for that. During this last episode of nose bleed, he became anemic again, and the doctors are contemplating giving him some blood because he has lost so much.

Ok....that's probably too much info. But for those of you who are medically inclined, I would appreciate any and all of your input.

They say he's going to be fine, but that doesn't stop any of us from worrying.

Oy. Life is not always the bowl of cherries we would like it to be.
