Spent the day on Catalina Island....had about 12 martinis (one of them was the best and most silly one I've ever had!)

Well today was an odd day......I had brunch on a ship, experienced a porn festival, got kissed by a Goth couple, celebrated Father's day, and ate wayyyyyy too much food. Now I'm having a cocktail and trying to figure out how to write about it all.
It started out as Father's day. My parents came down to visit and were staying on The Queen Mary....so we decided to go to brunch there. And OMG! The Queen Mary serves up one of the best brunches I've ever had (and let me tell you....I've had a lot of amazing brunches.... none compare to this!) And we ate, and ate, and ate. There were so many different fabulous things that there was no way that you could try them all....even if you just took little nibbles. (Needless to say, we ate until we dropped!)
But then, knowing today was the last chance to go to Erotic L.A., we left my parents off at a movie, and raced to downtown....hoping to get to the Erotic show before it closed. Amazingly, even after getting lost and nearly running out of gas, we made it there with time to spare!
Now, I've never been to one of these things before.....but you know I'm all about the erotic stuff, so we had a fabulous time. At first it seemed a bit boring.....too many booths trying to hawk DVD's (last day=3 for $10!). But then we found the porn star girls......either wandering about in outfits made of little more than rubber bands.....or manning their booths, posing for pictures and signing autographs.
This makes for the most fabulous of people watching!
There are the guys who are doing their best to feel up the girls while they're having their photo taken with them.....then there are the girls in various stages of undress, doing all that they can to get your attention....and they do a lot! And then there are the aging pornstars....not pretty, but...fun (?) to watch! Every now and again, it would be announced that some celebrity erotic dancer would be dancing at some booth.....and everybody would drop everything and run to see her! It was all quite a spectacle.
At one point, one of the dancers from a club called Spearmint Rhino came up to me and subtly indicated that I should come work for the club! That really caught me off guard, and I had no idea how to respond.....so, seeing the blank look on my face, she gave me some passes and told me that I should really stop by some time.
Then, shortly after that, a Goth couple came up to me and complimented me on my look. Wow! All of a sudden I remember that I had my business cards with me....and I could have been handing them out the whole time! D'oh! So I dig in my bag and get them out, but we only have about 10 minutes left before we have to meet back up with my family. Oy! Fortunately, I find the Goth couple again and give them my card.....and they both hug and kiss me! (Hey, Goth couple, if you're reading this.....leave a comment or email me.....maybe I can photograph you sometime!) All in all, it was quite the experience, I didn't hand out many cards....I was just going for the fun of it....but next time, it will definitely be on my list of business expenses!
And as if that wasn't enough for one day, we met up with my family, again, for more food! I really didn't think I was going to survive another meal....but we all just split everything and had small bites, so it was Ok. But now I think I need to just go to bed and try to digest this whole day.....literaly and figuratively!

Don't forget to put away your marshmallows....or you could end up in shackles! This is pretty scary. Another fine example that Homeland Security is going wayyyyy too far.
