I have been in such a writing slump lately....and this bugs me! Even though there hasn't been anything fabulously entertaining going on....I still feel like I should be able to come up with something to write about!! When it comes to writing, there are two sort of "rules" that I have in the back of my mind:
1. You should always be able to find something during the day that is interesting to writing about.
2. If there is nothing interesting to write about....a good writer will be able to write about something boring and make it interesting.
Hmmmmm.....well, I'm working on it!
Stay tuned....the next couple of weeks should prove to be more interesting......I feel a road trip coming on!!!!!!!!

Today has been one of those days when everything is just a little off. Nothing terribly bad....just annoying. I would trouble you with the details....but I don't want to trouble myself with typing them all out! I'll give you one detail though....my neighbor...."Nooky Gal"....(the one who usually bangs on the wall)....actually knocked on my door at 5:00pm tonight....to tell me I was being too loud (and I was being really quiet)......of course, I wimped out and didn't bring up her loud nights of wild sex!!! And I caved and told her I'd be quieter. You know she needs her beauty sleep!.....but now she needs her quiet time too!? Hmmm.....I've got to learn to be more tough.....(or more noisy!!)

Why is it that all the good things are bad?! Alcohol is bad, cheese is bad, spending money is bad. I try sooo hard to be good....but today I was bad.....I bought cheese! And not just any cheese.....I have a weakness for those expensive exotic kinds of cheeses.....the ones that look like they're already melting before you unwrap them! The ones that you need a second mortgage on your house to afford. The ones that require expensive wine and crackers to be properly enjoyed. Yes, I was bad.
But, I wasn't going there to buy cheese.....I needed to get some shipping tape. I was out running errands and happend to be passing by a grocery store.....it seemed convenient.....I could get some tape and pick up something for dinner at the same time. Nope! It was one of those frou~frou, high~end, gourmet grocery stores (the kind I love!)....but they didn't sell shipping tape.....in fact, I don't think they sell tape at all. But they do sell cheese.
Of course, I still wasn't going to buy any cheese. Yes, I looked at all the different kinds....for a long time.....but that didn't mean I had to buy any! I was going to be good.....I was actually walking away from the cheese section. But then I saw the crackers! They had these crackers that I used to always buy.....but haven't had in ages! Of course, it was all over then. I had to have those crackers! And I had to have some deliciously creamy, melty cheese to go with them....and some good wine.
Oh....you know the rest! I still need to buy shipping tape.....and I never did pick up anything for dinner (except cheese and crackers!!) I'm soooo bad!!! Tomorrow.....I promise to be good.....really!

This morning while I was walking on the beach, I found the most delicate, translucent white shell....both halves of it were still intact.....it had no chips or flaws....I was amazed that such a fragile shell could wash up on the beach in one piece. I carried it home very carefully....fearing that I might crush it if I put it in my pocket with the other thick and clunky shells I had found. When I got home, I gently rinsed it and set it on the counter to dry.....still marvelling at how this tiny shell could possibly survive the ocean.
Well....I think we need to have a moment of silence for my shell. Just now as I was putting away some groceries......I wasn't looking when I happened to set down a bottle of dishwashing liquid......Hmmmm....I guess I should've left the shell at the beach........Ooops!

I've been sitting here for the last hour trying to write something.....but I have been somewhat distracted by my lovely neighbor. You know...the one who always bangs on the wall if we so much as wisper! Well, for the last hour she has been having "nooky" at the top of her lungs....in German! And this gal is vocal! Lots of oooh.....mmmm...aaaahhhh....giggle...screach!....Oohhhh!!! (And many foreign words!) For an hour!!!! I guess I should have banged on the wall! But finally, now, she has taken her shower....and all is quiet.
But unfourtunately, I have completely lost the will to write.....so goodnight, everybody.....I'll be back on it tomorrow!
